“Zhi Nu” was originally a mythological goddess, the goddess of cloud weaving, the protector of weavers, lovers, women and children, and was later transformed into the name of a star constellation ((Weaving Maiden). She is the heroine of the famous myth of the Cowherd and the Zhi Nu. The traditional festival associated with the Zhi Nu is the Tanabata Festival.
