Wu Zhi Qi, is a water monster in Chinese mythology and the prototype of the Monkey King (Sun Wu Kong) in Journey to the West. He was shaped like an ape, with a collapsed nose, convex forehead, white head and green body, and fiery eyes. His head and neck were up to 100 feet long, and his strength exceeded that of nine elephants. He often made waves in Huai Shui, endangering the people. He was a strange demon during the period of Yao, Shun and Yu, and the most powerful and influential first strange demon in the history of China. When Dayu was ruling the water, the flooding of the Huai and Eddy water systems could not be solved because of the obstruction of Wu Zhi Qi. Just when Da Yu was at a loss for what to do, Yinglong descended to the earth and pressed Wu Zhi Qi under the Turtle Mountain, assisting Dayu to successfully manage the flooding, and from then on, the Huai River flowed into the East China Sea calmly.
