Preface: Yu Qiang is the god of the sea, wind, plague and the north in Chinese mythology, also known as “Xuan Ming”, the grandson of Huang Di (the Yellow Emperor), Zhuan Xu’s minister, who ruled the North Sea. He was half-human and half-god, with a fish-like body, a human face, a bird body, a green snake hanging from each ear, two green snakes on his feet, human hands and feet, and a two-headed snakes. He is also the embodiment of Ling Gui (the spirit turtle), symbolizing longevity and wisdom.
