Preface: Luo Shen Mi Fei is the goddess of the Luo water in ancient Chinese mythology, famous for her beauty.
Luo Shen Mi Fei was originally the daughter of Fu Xi.
One day, she accidentally walked to the Luo River bank and was fascinated by the beautiful scenery here. So she decided to stay in the human world and live on the bank of the Luo River.
At that time, a diligent and brave nation lived by the Luo River, called You Luo Shi.
After Mi Fei arrived, she joined the You Luo Shi nation.
At that time, the You Luo Shi nation was still very backward and lived in poverty.
Mi Fei taught them how to make nets to catch fish and also taught them good methods of hunting and raising livestock.
Gradually, the life of the You Luo Shi nation became better and better.
In spring, the people of You Luo Shi cultivated by the river and rested on the riverbank when they were tired.
Mi Fei took out her seven-stringed qin and played beautiful melodies to relieve their fatigue.
The sound of the qin reached the ears of the He Bo of the Yellow River.
The He Bo was a playboy. When he saw how beautiful Mi Fei was, he secretly slipped to the Luo River bank.
In order to get Mi Fei, he turned into a white Long and caused trouble in the Luo River, raising huge waves that soon submerged the people on the riverbank and also swept away Mi Fei.
The He Bo imprisoned Mi Fei at the bottom of the water.
Mi Fei couldn’t see her people and was sad all day, so she played the seven-stringed qin to relieve her sorrow.
Later, Hou Yi learned about Mi Fei’s experience and was very angry. He rescued Mi Fei from the bottom of the water and let her return to the You Luo Shi nation.
Hou Yi and Mi Fei fell in love over time and became husband and wife.
When the He Bo heard about it, he became even more angry.
He turned into a white Long again and dived into the Luo River, swallowing up the farmland, villages, and livestock by the river and also killing many people.
Hou Yi was very angry and pulled out his divine arrow, shooting the He Bo in the left eye.
The injured He Bo had to flee to the river.
But the He Bo still wasn’t satisfied and couldn’t defeat Hou Yi, so he went to the Yu Di to complain.
The Yu Di actually already knew what had happened and severely punished the He Bo.
The He Bo had to return to the Yellow River and never dared to interfere with the affairs of Hou Yi and Mi Fei again.
So, Hou Yi and Mi Fei settled down by the Luo River and lived a happy life.
Later, in order to commend them, the Yu Di appointed Hou Yi as the God of Zong Bu and Mi Fei as the Goddess of Luo.
The people on both sides of the Luo River also built a magnificent “Luo Shen Temple” to sacrifice to the merits of the Goddess of Luo.
The story of Luo Shen Mi Fei has been handed down from generation to generation like this.
